04/03/2010 | 4 colours / Mandy Leivers

I have recently finished my first four colour screen print, which was a success! The print was from an illustration I had produced for my For All People book. On a more interesting note, yesterday I met Mandy Leivers, Avon Gorge & Downs Biodiversity Education Officer, which was great. She was extremely helpful and has really helped me steer my self directed study in a far more positive direction. Thanks again! I won't say too much now, but will keep this site up to date with what I am up to.

01/03/2010 | Busy busy

Hello March. So yeah, been pretty busy recently. The days are flying past! Here is a photo of me working on my AV Studio project. I assure you lots of interesting things are in the pipe line, just a matter of time before they are finished!

26/02/2010 | AV Studio / Viewing Areas / Dog

Another hectic load of days, quite a lot of interesting projects on the go at the moment. Myself and 6 other Graphic Design students from UWE are putting on an exhibition in Bath, with 7 students from Bath University. More to be confirmed soon. Here are some of the flyers that haven't been chopped up yet. The guys from Bath did a great job with all the printing of these and lots of posters. Below is also a photo of us looking through the window of the space, which is in a very central location in Bath.

I have also been exploring and documenting some new viewing areas, which is a part of my work that is getting more and more interesting and I think some fun things will come as a result. Check back soon (when I post some worthwhile things!).

And here is a dog I saw out of my window the other day. He was very well behaved. Good dog.

21/02/2010 | New viewing area exploration

I have been out and about photographing some more viewing areas for my self directed study. I have now ventured to Clevedon, Portishead and, a little closer, in Leigh Woods right by the suspension bridge. Here are a few of the many photos I took. I think the third one looks quite surreal, almost like a painting. Not intentional, but I think I like it.

15/02/2010 | Update

I have been pretty busy recently, lots and lots of work on. I have posted up a small project I completed aimed at making some really interesting information about some of Britains birds more accesible. This is not down to me being an avid bird watcher (as I am not) but having researched into bird watching and the people who enjoy it, these details are hugely interesting. I have also posted up the most recent ISTD project I have completed, IMBALANCE. I produced 4 posters for my final piece of work, but will photograph them as soon as possible, but a couple of the development books are up now. Enjoy. More work to come very soon.

06/02/2010 | Cycle Cycle Photo Photo

When I get a bit stuck for things to do, I tend to just ride about a bit, see whats going on etc. I have been doing this a lot recently which has given me a good chance to get the hang of my new camera. I have been trying out a couple of different types of film and here are a few shots that I quite like from today. Some actual design work will be put up soon. Promise.

I also took a bit of a wrong turn yesterday whilst out and about, trying to find another route to somewhere else, I ended up at an entrance to Leigh Woods. As much as I would have loved to go for a wander, my bike wasn't so happy about it.

05/02/2010 | Nice work for your eyes and ears

Those guys over at Plastic Horse have been working hard and this is their latest offering. Bias and River Nelson - Strange Things. Enjoy. Whilst you are at it, why not take a look at their other work? Plastic Horse.

04/02/2010 | CV Foldey Booklet

Recently I have been working on some bits to send out and try to get a bit of work experience. I have used some old billboards, cut down to a managable size, where I have screen printed the front, photocopied my cv onto the blue side and included a booklet with my recent work and a covering letter on the inside. Here are a couple of photos of what they look like.
