Final Outcome
& Development material
In order to win a football match, you need to be better than your opposition. You need to achieve an imbalance during the match that enables you to out play the other team and, in order to win, score more goals than them. The imbalance achieved will be a result of good coaching and training, preparing you and your team in the best possible way for the match. In this set of posters I have focused on coaching advice given in a book ‘Soccer… Do it this way’ written by D.F. Rowe. As well as guidance provided from this book, there is also text relating to football from the present day, from a match between Manchester United and Leeds United in the third round
of the FA cup. The intention is to allow the viewer to find connections and contradictions between the text from ‘Soccer... Do it this way’ written in 1949 and text written by various football pundits from the present day in 2010.
